Sporting Kansas City acquired goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh in Stage 1 of the 2020 MLS Re-Entry Process on Dec. 17. McIntosh boasts five years of professional experience across Major League Soccer and the second-division USL Championship. He spent the 2020 MLS campaign with the New York Red Bulls following a four-year stint in the Portland Timbers organization from 2016-2019.
He made his MLS debut on Sept. 13, 2022, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 triumph over D.C. United at Children's Mercy Park.
PROFESSIONAL
2022: Made his MLS debut for Sporting KC on Sept. 13. MLS Regular Season: Started two matches for Sporting Kansas City, keeping one cleansheet (180 minutes played). Made his Major League Soccer debut on Sept. 13 at Children's Mercy Park against D.C. United and helped guide Sporting to a 3-0 victory. Started on MLS Decision Day at FC Dallas on Oct. 9. Open Cup: Did not feature. MLS NEXT Pro: Started 10 matches for Sporting KC II in the inaugural season of MLS NEXT Pro, keeping two clean sheets (900 minutes played).
2021: Signed with Sporting Kansas City in January following Stage 1 of the 2020 MLS Re-Entry Process. USL Championship: Made 13 appearances for Sporting KC II in their final year in USL Championship, keeping three clean sheets. Earned a shutout in a 1-0 victory at Atlanta United 2 on July 10. Kept OKC Energy FC off the scoreboard and made four saves on July 24. MLS Regular Season: Did not feature MLS Cup Playoffs: Did not feature.
New York Red Bulls (2020):
Signed with the New York Red Bulls after four seasons with the Portland Timbers organization.
Portland Timbers (2016-2019):
Joined the Portland Timbers organization in 2017 and spent the majority of his time with Portland Timbers 2 in the USL Championship. In his first season with the club he made 18 appearances for Timbers 2 in USL Championship, keeping four clean sheets and conceding just 21 goals for a GAA of 1.17.
A year later, he signed his first MLS contract with the Portland Timbers in January 2017. He went on loan to Timbers 2 and made 20 appearances in USL Championship. in 2018 the keeper made his first team debut in the Fourth Round of the US Open Cup, keeping a clean sheet against the San Jose Earthquakes in a 2-0 victory. Played in 17 matches for Timbers 2, keeping five cleansheets. Made five appearances for Timbers 2 in his final season with the club.
INTERNATIONAL
On the international stage, McIntosh notably featured for the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team at the 2012 Northern Ireland Milk Cup. Earlier, he was part of the U.S. U-14 National Development Program and the U-15 Boys’ National Team prior to his residency with the U-17s in Bradenton, Florida. At the 2011 Concacaf U-17 Championship, McIntosh recorded two shutouts in three winning appearances—including a 3-0 defeat of Canada in the final.
COLLEGE
Enjoyed a largely successful, four-year collegiate career at Santa Clara University. He made 53 appearances for the Broncos from 2012-2015 and was named the 2015 West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year as a senior, leading Santa Clara to the WCC Championship. During his time in college, he also competed in the Premier Development League—now known as USL League Two—for FC Tucson and the Burlingame Dragons.

Born in Oakland and raised in Santa Rosa, California, McIntosh was a member of the San Jose Earthquakes Academy as a youth before he began his college career.
