Aaron Kovar

Out of contract following 2018 season.

In the course of three years, Aaron Kovar went from Washington’s Gatorade High School Player of the Year to an MLS Homegrown signee training with Seattle’s first team. Not bad for a local Seattle kid who ended up parlaying two strong years in the Sounders’ academy into an MLS contract as a dangerous wide player. Kovar’s preferred position is typically somewhere on the flanks, where he likes to pinch in a dribbly inverted winger. With his combination of speed and soccer IQ, the sky’s the limit.

COLLEGE: Kovar only spent two years at Stanford before signing his Homegrown deal, but he made them count. He earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2012, and in his sophomore season he had two goals and six assists, including a goal in the NCAA tournament.
