Athletes from Special Olympics Massachusetts and Special Olympics Illinois received the full MLS player matchday experience last weekend.
After watching the New England Revolution play the Chicago Fire from seats in the club level, the New England and Illinois unified teams played their own match on the Gillette Stadium turf.
Both teams wore the MLS colors of their respective sides and played in front of boisterous support from “The Fort” supporters section, as well as several Revs players.
The teams will reunite on Aug. 5 at Toyota Park when the Revolution play a return league fixture at the Fire.
