TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
United States U-20 national team attacker Cameron Harper may be coming to MLS, with reports out of Scotland suggesting that he'll join the New York Red Bulls from Celtic FC ahead of the 2021 season.
Harper, 19, has been linked to the Red Bulls since last month, when The Athletic reported that the clubs were in discussions for a pre-contract ahead of a summertime move. However, the latest updates from Scotland suggest that Harper will instead join the Red Bulls in time for preseason and that a fee has been agreed upon.
Harper, a California native, holds a British passport and joined Celtic in 2018 after developing with Pateadores SC. Harper made his Celtic debut this past January, playing 61 minutes during a 1-1 draw against Hibernian as first-team regulars were unavailable due to COVID-19 factors.
Harper would add depth to RBNY's forward group, with the club entering their first full season under head coach Gerhard Struber. RBNY are coming off their 11th straight trip to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
