TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Minnesota United's pursuit of a new forward has reportedly led them to Ligue 1 and an offer for Stade Rennais striker Adrien Hunou, according to a Thursday update from Goal.com's French correspondent Benjamin Quarez.
According to Quarez, the Loons have made a concrete offer for the 27-year-old Frenchman, who has seen his minutes decrease in recent weeks under manager Julien Stephan.
Hunou, a former France U-20 international, has only played 519 minutes in Ligue 1 this season, managing four goals while jostling for playing time with other forwards on the club's roster.
He would fill a major need for Minnesota, who currently have only one true forward on their first-team roster in Foster Langsdorf. Luis Amarilla was brought in as a big signing last year to high expectations, but struggled through an injury-riddled 2020 before departing back to Ecuador.
Hunou has spent his entire pro career with Stade Rennais, although he did manage a 47-match stint on loan with Ligue 2 side Clermont from 2014-16. He's been a productive goal-scorer in his career, netting 36 times for Stade Rennais and 11 times while at Clermont.
