Re-live San Jose Earthquakes memorable 2020 season in hour-long documentary

San Jose Earthquakes playoff-clinching celebration

The 2020 Major League Soccer season didn’t end with a championship for the San Jose Earthquakes, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a memorable year.

When the Quakes clinched a berth in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs that seemed unlikely at one point, MLS goal king Chris Wondolowski said these Goonies were ā€œmade for 2020.ā€

ā€œWe joke, and I say this facetiously, that our team is made for 2020, 2020 is crazy. We’re mayhem. That’s what our team is made for,ā€ Wondolowski said following a 3-2 win over LAFC. ā€œIt’s why we love it. I wish we could be a little bit sharper and didn’t have to endure all the valleys. I love how high the mountains are. We have to make sure our valleys aren’t too low and stay more even keeled, but our team is made for 2020.ā€

There were indeed wild rollercoaster rides in 2020, which included remarkable come-from-behind wins, a first postseason berth since 2017 and a thrilling Round One playoff match against Sporting Kansas City which ended with a historic penalty kick shootout.

You can re-live it all in an hour-long documentary appropriately entitled ā€œMayhem: The 2020 San Jose Earthquakes Documentaryā€
