MLS expansion side Nashville SC announced Thursday that Century Farms would be the location of the team's new training facility. Century Farms is located in the Nashville neighborhood of Antioch, 12 miles from the team's current home of Nissan Stadium and 9 miles from the team's soccer-specific stadium set to open in 2022, Nashville Fairgrounds Stadium.
"The club’s practice facility sits alongside our new stadium and new youth academy as key assets of any professional soccer team," Nashville CEO Ian Ayre said in a club statement. "Creating a first-class facility where our players and staff can practice and work is a crucial part of the overall organization and a foundational element for the soccer footprint we have been building for the city."
The training facility at Century Farms will have three full-size soccer pitches, as well as other facilities to host the first team and its staff.
Century Farms will not only host Nashville's training facility, as the club will only be using 15 acres of the 300+ acre property. The site also plans to host retail shops, office and multifamily spaces, as well as entertainment venues. There is currently no timetable on construction and completion of the training facility, but in the meantime, Nashville will remain at its current training setup at the Currey Ingram Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee.
