TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Trade
Nashville SC have acquired defender Nick Hinds from the Seattle Sounders in exchange for $50,000 General Allocation Money, the clubs announced Monday. Seattle will retain a sell-on percentage should Hinds be transferred in the future.
Hinds, 23, is a left back and former US youth international. He is a graduate of the Sounders academy and spent two seasons at the University of Akron before signing a deal with Seattle's USL Championship affiliate Tacoma Defiance, where he made 68 appearances. He also made one appearance in the US Open Cup for the Sounders.
“Nick is a talented young player who has been a real standout at the youth, collegiate, and USL Championship levels,” Nashville GM Mike Jacobs said in a club statement. “He brings outstanding experiences from US youth national teams and a successful youth academy in Seattle. His pace and ability to join into the attack makes him someone who could become a successful left-sided player at this level.”
The move adds depth to Nashville's backline. Hinds is the latest addition for the club this winter, following the likes of CJ Sapong, Rodrigo Pineiro and others.
