Crutches and all, Jordan Morris was likely smiling ear-to-ear underneath his mask.

Upon returning stateside from his Swansea City loan, the 26-year-old swung by the early days of Seattle Sounders preseason camp. Just over a week ago, Morris suffered a serious ACL injury while in a Championship match, ending his time in Europe and prompting an early flight back home.

Check out the clip below, as the likes of head coach Brian Schmetzer, midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro and defender Xavier Arreaga showed Morris support as he faces the road to recovery.

Before joining Swansea in January, Morris recorded 35 goals and 20 assists across 105 MLS matches. He helped Seattle win MLS Cups in 2016 and 2019, then earned MLS Best XI honors in 2020.

Morris’ setback is his second in a few years, as he previously missed the entire 2018 MLS season with a torn ACL. This one could hinder his US men’s national team aspirations, should they qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Despite all that, Morris has vowed to come back “stronger and better” than before. Check out more of his inspiring note here.
