TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
FC Cincinnati have signed defender Tyrell Malacia, the club announced Friday.
The 27-year-old Netherlands international is under contract through June 2027 with an option for 2027-28 MLS season.
As part of the deal, Cincinnati sent $200,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM) to St. Louis CITY SC for an international roster slot.
Malacia arrives as a free agent after featuring at Manchester United, playing 50 games across all competitions for the legendary Premier League side.
A product of famed Dutch club Feyenoord, the left back also spent time on loan at rivals PSV Eindhoven and has accumulated nearly 200 senior club appearances in Europe.
“We are excited to add a player of Tyrell's experience,” said general manager Chris Albright. “He's played at the highest levels of the game and understands the demands of competing in those environments.
"His quality on the ball, defensive instincts, and team-first mentality is a welcome addition to the group and we’re happy to have him in Cincinnati.”
Internationally, Malacia has nine caps for the Netherlands. He most recently featured for the Oranje during the 2023 UEFA Nations League finals.
